MaNishada shloka
Maharishi Valmiki was captivated by Rama’s personality and kept contemplating. Following day he visits the Tamasa river near his ashram along with his disciple Bharadwaja. While strolling along the banks, deeply engrossed in thoughts about Rama, Maharishi Valmiki observes two Krauncha birds enjoying each other’s companionship and singing melodiously. Unseen by the birds, a hunter shoots an arrow, killing the male bird. This sudden loss causes immense distress to the female bird, who begins to wail in pain. Disturbed by this scene, Maharishi Valmiki, consumed by compassion, curses the hunter.

Maharishi realized he had uttered a shloka in poetic meter. He was then instructed by Lord Brahma to compose Ramayana in this same meter.
Anustubh meter
The Anustubh meter is characterized by its structured arrangement of 32 syllables, typically organized into four lines of eight syllables each. This arrangement makes it easier to memorize and recite.
