Just about everything

A day at the Paulton’s Park

If you are a parent of a toddler and not a strict zero-screen-time parent, then Peppa must have already been part of your digital family. Its also not surprising if you get called mummy or daddy pig. My son who is almost 9 now loved watching Peppa when he was a toddler, but now his preferences have changed. But when we told him that we are going to Peppa pig world for a day-trip, he just jumped in joy. We booked tickets online 3 weeks in advance. Booking online is worth and saves queue time on the day of the trip.

We live in London and the drive to Paulton’s park was approximately two and half hours. We started off around 7:30 in the morning planning to reach the park by 10:30 latest. Travelling with a 2 year and a 9 year old is ultra fun in some ways. Every 10 minutes you get asked if we have arrived at the destination or you get to see how hungry they can get even though they just had sugar loaded juice 20 minutes before. It’s all fun.

We stopped at services midway for breakfast and as it was a Saturday, there was a big waiting time to get our orders. By the time we finished breakfast and were ready to leave the services it was already 10. We reached Paulton’s by 11. I had booked a stroller online just in case my toddler wanted to use, but my daughter used it sparingly but we mostly used it as our bag carrier.

It was a hot day and there were queues for every ride. There were some rides where the wait time of 25 minutes. Waiting wasn’t much of a problem as we had company of our friends and their family, the kids knew each other well and so they dint complain much about the queue’s as they had lot of important stuff to discuss. I really like the idea of travelling with friends with families because it just gets so much easier to manage the kids.

Paulton’s park has different themes and we started with the Peppa pig world. We went on the helicopter ride and then to the Grandpa pig’s boat ride. We were soon bored of the dry rides and wanted something more exciting so we decided to head towards the water kingdom. They have started a new ride, Splash Lagoon. It was the one we enjoyed the most. Kids and we adults loved it equally. And then few rides had dinosaur theme. Kids were treated to walking dinosaur, they loved touching and running around the Dinosaur.

The park had some thrilling rides for adults. All rides had wait time but the ride experience was worth the wait. In terms of food, we had packed home food but we did buy some potato fries from the park, it was decent. The park closes at 6. We could go on just about 7 rides in total but the park offers second day free tickets as well for those who are really keen on covering every ride in the amusement park.

If you are planning a visit, consider booking online tickets and download the park app, so you can view the waiting times for rides and plan your day accordingly.
